About the Course

Bleeding can happen in any stage of pregnancy. It is a danger sign for impending complications. It can cause adverse outcomes for both mother and baby. Causes of bleeding in early pregnancy are abortion, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy etc. In later period of pregnancy the causes could be abnormal placental positioning and premature detachment of placenta apart from the local causes like carcinoma, trauma, polyp etc. Postpartum hemorrhage is a common cause of maternal mortality in many of the developing and underdeveloped countries. All these conditions and their managements are discussed in this course.
